(GoRealNewsNow.com) – According to the New York Times, former House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi summoned priests to her San Francisco home to perform an exorcism after a man allegedly attacked her husband with a hammer.
Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra, stated that the incident “weighed really heavy on her soul” and that “she felt really guilty.”
Critics have had mixed reactions to the news, with some questioning if Pelosi will also coordinate an exorcism for the speaker’s office and others calling it “bizarre” and “exploitative.”
“Hopefully, Nancy doesn’t vanish after the exorcism,” tweeted Terry Mann.
“Will she also be coordinating one for the speaker’s office?” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) asked.
Fr. Arturo Albano, the pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Pelosi’s local parish, stated that his staff was not involved in such a rite and that “as far as I know, no exorcism or priest services were performed at her home.”
However, it is possible that Pelosi sought help from outside her local church hierarchy as San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone banned her from receiving Holy Communion in May due to her pro-abortion advocacy.
The Catholic League President, Bill Donohue, commented on the news, stating, “The woman is positively conflicted. She wears her Catholicism on her sleeve while basically sticking her middle finger at the Catholic Church every opportunity she has.”
He went on to say, “If it’s genuine, she needs psychiatric help. And if not, it’s another example of Nancy Pelosi exploiting the Catholic Church for her own personal gain.”
The alleged hammer attack on Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, occurred on October 29th and was carried out by conspiracy theorist David DePape.
DePape allegedly planned to “hold Nancy hostage” and to “break her kneecaps” if she lied during his intended interrogation. The incident resulted in severe injuries to Paul Pelosi’s skull, arm, and hands and required surgery.
