In yet another attempt to advance radical gender ideology, council members from a blue city have introduced legislation called‘ Menstrual Equity’ to place menstrual products in men’s bathrooms.
The new bill, championed by Baltimore’s Councilman Paris Gray, would require taxpayer-funded feminine hygiene products in all city-owned public restrooms regardless of gender designation.
The controversial proposal aims to place menstrual products in all bathrooms in city-owned and leased buildings – including men’s restrooms – offering these products free of charge.
This extreme measure is being promoted under the guise of “menstrual equity” despite the biological reality that men do not menstruate.
Councilman Paris Gray, the lead sponsor of the act, has framed this as an issue of basic necessity rather than acknowledging the ideological agenda behind placing female hygiene products in male facilities.
Gray stated:
“Access to menstrual products should be as fundamental as access to soap or toilet paper. It is an essential part of personal hygiene, and yet, for far too many people, these products remain out of reach. Menstrual products are not a luxury. They are a necessity, and the absence of access can create undue stress and hardship.”
The act requires that menstrual products be provided at taxpayer expense in “restrooms and all kinds of facilities, whether they are designated for men, women, family use or single occupancy.”
Baltimore’s Democrat leaders are apparently unconcerned about the financial burden this places on a city already facing severe economic challenges and rising crime rates.
If approved, this mandate will codify existing efforts already undertaken by Mayor Brandon Scott’s administration.
Gray has proudly declared, “Baltimore’s proudly taking this place at the forefront of this critical effort.”
This positions the troubled city as a leader in advancing progressive gender ideology rather than addressing its more pressing problems like violent crime, failing schools, and crumbling infrastructure.
Besides, this is not the first time Democrat politicians have pushed such policies.
During the previous presidential campaign, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) earned the nickname “Tampon Tim” for supporting similar legislation that placed menstrual products in boys’ school bathrooms.
Baltimore is following the lead of California, where the “Menstrual Equality for All Act” dictates that public schools stock restrooms with menstrual products by the 2024-25 school year.
The Long Beach Unified School District has already implemented similar measures, placing feminine hygiene products in various school restrooms regardless of biological necessity.
Critics of these policies pointed out that they were not about accessibility but about forcing ideology on the public.
While ensuring that women have access to necessary health products is reasonable, placing them in men’s restrooms serves no practical purpose and only advances a radical gender agenda that denies biological reality.
As Baltimore residents struggle with rampant crime, economic hardship, and failing city services, their elected officials seem determined to focus on symbolic gestures that satisfy progressive activists.
