(GoRealNewsNow.com) – A troubling series of events unfolded on Christmas Eve as a man crashed at two Catholic churches in Maryland, leaving parishioners astounded and worried.

Thomas Campbell Bolling Von Goetz was arrested for his outrageous actions. He now faces multiple charges after causing chaos at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Avenue and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Leonardtown.

According to reports, the first disturbance occurred at Holy Angels Catholic Church around 5 p.m. when Von Goetz bizarrely dropped an onion in the aisle during Mass, unsettling the congregation.

After being escorted out, he assaulted a bystander outside by pelting them with tangerines.

Von Goetz’s actions escalated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where he poured whiskey into the holy water during the sacred midnight Mass.

He further threatened attendees, shattering the peace meant to prevail during such a revered occasion.

Despite attempts to de-escalate the situation, Von Goetz attempted to hit several individuals with a whiskey bottle. Parishioners bravely intervened, ensuring Von Goetz was restrained until deputies arrived.

Furthermore, he was transported to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, raising concerns about his mental health and what could drive a person to such extreme measures.

Von Goetz is currently facing multiple charges, including second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, defacing religious property, and disturbing the peace, among others, all of which stem from his December 24 disruptions.

Such acts of desecration and violence on a sacred holiday are deeply unsettling and raise significant concerns about security and respect in places of worship.
